new news, but better get it in while you can.
Gonna be in the 40s and 50s for the next few days,
possibly with some rain.

ST.
JOE PIERS: Some
news to report finally. A few whitefish have
been taken the last couple of days. Browns
have also been caught and coho aren't far
behind. Some guys are floating spawn, etc., on
the river side for steelies.
ST.
JOE RIVER: We
hear steelies are being taken, here and there, off
and on, from the hospital to Pipestone Creek and up
at the dam. Pretty much the same report on
walleye. (Walleye closes March 15) There were boats and shoreline
fishermen at the dam, it was very popular
today.
GALIEN
RIVER:
No news.

WATERFOWL
HUNTING How
to Book a Trip
Diver ducks. Puddle ducks. Canada
geese. Water and field hunts. We also offer blind rental for those
wishing to hunt on their own.
Your dog is welcome on all hunts.
MICHIGAN
| Unguided Hunts -
You may 'rent'
our Lake Michigan diver blind for divers and mallards or choose our private
inland lake for geese. In either case you'll need your own decoys and
dog for retrieving. Those hunting the diver blind will also need a boat
(we have boats available at our private lake). No waders required. |
| Daily blind rental:
$200 Max 4 persons |
|
. |
| Lake Michigan -
Guided. We offer a
comfortable water-blind hunt for divers and mallards (and whatever else comes
by, including Canada geese) less than 400 yards from Lake Michigan. No
waders required. |
|
Daily per person
rate: $125 Max 3 persons |
|
. |
| Saginaw Bay -
Guided. If you haven't tried
Saginaw Bay for ducks, you're in for a treat. You'll hunt mallards and
divers from a boat near the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, haven to
thousands of migrating birds each fall. While not all days are as good
as others, your guide has several years' experience here so 'skunk' days are
rare. You should have ample shooting. Bring chest waders just in
case, but you probably won't need them. |
| Daily per person rate:
$225 Max 3 persons |
|
. |
| Inland -
Guided.
REGULAR SEASONS: Water hunts are likely
although we have several goose fields available if that's your
preference. Still, the water goose hunts are as close to a guaranteed
hunt as we can offer. Typically, these are also easy hunts and are
perfect for handicapped hunters or those seeking their first birds.
Bring chest waders just in case, but you probably won't need them.
LATE SEASONS: These will almost
exclusively be field hunts. Dressing for the weather is
extremely important here. Cold hands or feet will ruin your day
so be prepared for extreme cold and wind. If you require a
heater let us know. We will also provide each hunter with their
preference of a thermos full of hot coffee, tea or chicken soup.

Regular Seasons: $125 Max 4 persons |

WATERFOWL |
* I've
gone on a lot of guided hunts in Texas and other
waterfowling hotspots but John (from BJ Sports) is the best duck and
goose caller we've hunted with. We had a great
time and we're already booked again for next season.
BACK
TO WATERFOWL
INDIANA
| North Zone - Hunt the St. Joseph
River or fields in the immediate are for both ducks and Canada geese. If
you're on a river hunt, bring waders. |
| Daily per person rate:
$125 Max 3 persons |
|
. |
| South Zone - If you've never seen
a cloud of about 500 - 1,000 wood ducks, try this float hunt. You may or
may not get a crack at a mallard or two, but the only reason you won't limit
on wood ducks is because you can't hit them. |
|
Daily per person
rate: $150 Max 2 persons |
